LOVE – is a strong affection based on admiration and sexual desire for another person. For some, it is more than the strong feeling, it is more than  just a mere definition of the word. It is beyond what we know and feel. It is beyond our own understanding.

Here are  random thoughts/quotes of what we know love is :

(1). “If it is right, it happens – the main thing is not to hurry. Nothing good gets away”. — John Steinbeck —

(2). “There is no fear in love, but perfect love cast out fear”. — Bible, 1 John 4:18

(3). “Nobody has ever measured, not even poets, how much the heart can hold”. — Zelda Fitzgerald —

(4). “The most important things are the hardest to say, because words diminish them”. — Stephen King —

(5). “Love is always open arms”. — Leo Buscaglia —-

(6). “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye”. — Antoine De Saint-Exupery

(7). “One word frees us from all the weight and pain in life. That word is love”. — Socrates —

(8). “The course of true love never did run smooth”. — William Shakespear —

(9). “If you love someone, set them free. If they come back they’re yours; If they don’t they never were”. — Richard Bach —

(10). “If I know what love is, it is because of you”. — Hermann Hesse

Remember Charles Boyer ? He met his wife in a dinner party, got engaged after two weeks and after three months married her. The marriage lasted for 44 years because she died of cancer. After two days, Charles took his own life.

It is not for me to pass judgment on how he handled his grief. But it is for me to say that I am touched and comforted in a strange way. Touched by the depth of his love and comforted to know that a man and woman can love each other that much that long… And I understand why Charles did what he did. It really is possible to love someone that much.  — R. Fulghum —

Yes, it is possible. I’m certain of it.

  1. Love is a mess! I know, maybe I should say love is messy? The basis of love is acceptance and belonging to another almost in a worshipful sense; the physical union between the man and the woman in the bonds of marriage is akin to divine mystery of course, the Apostle Paul alludes to that; whether you call love love simple and pure, or just a game to gain something by, for me it means giving up your selfishness at its core (which does not happen overnight) for the happiness of your partner; I like the biblical entreaty, we are ‘accepted in the beloved’ meaning there is peace even in the storm because someone has your back. From the standpoint of love and marriage, the book of Solomon must be read for it give us some things we cannot find anywhere else in worldly literature, and those hide and seek virtues, unique comparative aspects in nature, for instance, and the tantalizing aspects of foreplay which has little to do with performance so much as the wonder of what can be beautifully expressed to the person cared for.
